Camelot Close II, Wimbledon, London

Extension and modernisation of another 1970s detached house in a quiet close off Arthur Road in Wimbledon Park.

Seeing our first project in Camelot Close, our Client on the opposite side of the Close approached us to modernise their property as well.

A two storey detached house originally built in the 1970s with 5 small bedrooms and a ground floor rear extension that has missed the trick required a light touch approach externally but a complete rearrangement internally to suit the contemporary needs of our Client's young family.

Located in the Wimbledon North Conservation Area in Wimbledon Park, we designed a small first floor rear extension on top of the existing ground floor extension and elevated the roof to gain more space in the loft with sympathetic dormer windows.

Internally, the entrance lobby has been turned into a generous double height space with a new feature stair and direct visual links through the house towards the rear garden. The ground floor living room / reception area has been reconfigured to enable better functionality. The first floor received a significantly increased master bedroom suite and two other bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The new second floor will provide 2 guest bedroom suites and a generous study with direct views of the City.
