Lordship Lane, Dulwich, London
Improvement of an existing planning approval from 5 new apartments to 7 new units.
Rear extension of an existing 3 storey building providing a commercial unit on the ground floor and 7 apartments above.
The existing 3 storey building on the corner of Lordship Lane and N Cross Road comprises a commercial unit on the ground and 2 duplex units above. Our Client has secured planning permission for an additional 3 residential units above the rear section of the commercial unit. Unsatisfied with this approval Rohacs Architects (formerly RnH Architects) were appointed to improve on this result.
We secured approval for an additional 2 residential units on top of the already approved 3. Rather than treating the proposed additions as extensions, we designed a massing that looks integral to the original building. The dark painted brick facades provide elegant appearance and let the preserved colourful street art on the N Cross Road façade dominate.
