2,150sqft side extension to a 2,185sqft detached house.

 

Located on a south eastern slope with uninterrupted valley views this outdated 4 bed house required an internal update and extension to suit a family of 6. An update to the internal layout made the increased kitchen the heart of the building. The revised plan put the view into focus and visible throughout the building starting right at the main entrance hall. An additional 3 storey side extension provided further family living space on the ground floor and 3 new bedrooms.

Our approach to design and consultation with the Local Authority proved to be the key to the success of this project where we managed to double the size of a building whilst the extension was deemed as subservient to the original house.
