Planning approval for a single storey roof extension providing 6 new units overlooking a Victorian Park and Conservation Area

 

A previously approved roof extension with 4 units has been improved by us and received approval from Hackney council for 6 apartments on the corner of Green Lanes and Queens Drive in north London. Overlooking a Victorian park and Conservation Area, this flat roof provided a fantastic potential for additional units which were secured through sensitive design of massing, high quality façade materials and detailing, including heritage windows matching the original building, and of course extensive consultation with the Council. Through strategic improvements to the entrance area and the communal areas in general we managed to get the approval without the need for a lift, leaving it open to the developer to provide one or not if it is deemed necessary for the market.
